Why peyaji?

Most free shorteners now come with a catch. This one doesn’t.

Questions, answered

Is peyaji really free?

Yes. Short links and QR codes are free, with no account, no ads and no monthly limit. Signing in is free too: it lets you use your own domain and keep your links in one place.

How long do short links last?

They don’t expire. A link stops working only if the person who made it switches it off in their account, or if it’s reported and found to break the Terms of Use (for example, by leading to malware or phishing). And if peyaji ever stops making new links, the ones already made keep working.

Can I take my links with me?

Yes, any time. Under Your links on the home page, Download saves the last 20 links made in this browser as a CSV file. Signed in, your account page downloads every link in your account, with its clicks — and links you made before signing in can be added to it.

Can I change where a short link goes?

No. Short links can’t be edited, so nobody can swap the destination after a link has been shared. Make a new link instead. If you made it while signed in (or added it to your account), you can switch the old one off on your account page, and back on any time.

How can I see where a link goes before opening it?

Add + to the end of any peyaji link, like peyaji.com/abc1234+. Or turn on previews to see the destination of every link first.

How do I see how many times my link was clicked?

Open Clicks on the link’s result: its private clicks page, which works on any device without signing in. Bookmark it and keep its address to yourself. The count also shows under Your links on this page, in the browser you made the link with, and on your account page when you’re signed in, with a chart of the clicks per day and by country.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, for free. Sign in, add a domain such as go.yourbrand.com under Your account and create the one DNS record it shows. Your short links then look like go.yourbrand.com/sale.

What stops people from misusing it?

Links to private addresses and to other shorteners are refused, everyone has a limit on how many links they can make, and links that lead to phishing or malware are switched off. A link that Google Safe Browsing has checked says so: “Checked for malware and phishing” on its result and preview page. Report a bad link to abuse@peyaji.com.

পেঁয়াজি (peyaji) is the crispy onion fritter sold in paper cones on Kolkata’s streets — small, quick and everyone’s favourite. That’s the idea behind these links.
